Job Description
The Material Coordinator is responsible for managing inventory discrepancies, performing cycle counts, monitoring inventory levels, and ensuring timely communication with suppliers and management regarding supply risks. This role involves supporting all plant inventory activities and administering inbound and outbound expedite activities while following company guidelines for safety and emergency procedures.
ResponsibilitiesEnter all discrepancies, such as scrap, returns, and cycle counts, into the inventory system and maintain accurate records.Perform cycle counts as required.Monitor inventory levels by running necessary reports each shift to ensure appropriate levels.Communicate all supply issues to suppliers and inform Material Planner and management of supply risks in a timely manner.Enter receipts as directed and assist in all plant inventory activities.Follow visual min/max procedures and communicate violations to customers and Material Planners.Pull inventory as required for product requests and build outs.Administer inbound and outbound expedite activities as needed.Adhere to shop floor engineering change procedures and document all activities.Ensure compliance with company guidelines for emergency evacuation to maintain employee safety.Provide direction to dock personnel for loading and unloading activities.Monitor dunnage activities for accuracy and correctness.Monitor customer bank screens and ensure timely shipments.Support and monitor outbound shipment transactions, including all scanning activities.Advise Department Manager of any significant risks to programs, product assurance, facilities, employee safety, or customer satisfaction.Initiate actions to prevent nonconformance related to product, process, and systems.Identify, record, and recommend solutions for any problems related to product, process, or system.Essential SkillsAssociate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.1-3 years of applied experience in a materials department or manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.Self-discipline to perform time-sensitive assignments with high activity.Experience with automotive and Just-In-Time (JIT) systems.Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Attention to detail and ability to follow through.Ability to maintain confidential information.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with inventory control, material handling, cycle counts, and forklift operation.Proficiency in data entry, supply chain management, and inventory management.Experience with warehouse packing, production, and shipping and receiving.Why Work Here?
