Work Environment

The position is fully onsite with a Monday through Friday work schedule. Flexible start and end times are available, ranging from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, or 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Some flexibility is available when needed.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Chemistry, Business, or a related field is preferred but not required.3+ years of procurement experience in any manufacturing industry.Proficiency in purchasing, procurement, purchase orders, and supply chain management.Experience as a Buyer in the pharmaceutical, chemical, or life sciences industry.Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably AS400 or SAP.Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.Working knowledge of cGMP, FDA, and controlled substance procurement regulations.Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

Job Description

The Raw Material Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory levels of raw materials, including active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), excipients, solvents, and reagents, required for the production of liquid pharmaceutical products. This role ensures a consistent and compliant supply of raw materials while supporting quality, cost, and service objectives in alignment with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

Execute purchase orders for pharmaceutical-grade raw materials in accordance with production forecasts and safety stock targets.Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, and Manufacturing teams to ensure supplier compliance with cGMP and FDA standards.Monitor raw material availability, lead times, pricing, and quality performance.Maintain accurate vendor and item master data in the ERP system.Identify and qualify alternate suppliers as needed to mitigate risk and ensure continuity of supply.Work with finance and operations to optimize working capital through inventory level management.Resolve delivery discrepancies, non-conformance issues, and invoice discrepancies in a timely manner.Support audits, documentation reviews, and regulatory inspections related to raw material procurement.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
