**Description**
Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Intern to join our Material and Analytical Sciences department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. As an Intern, you will expand your scientific skills, gain experience using state-of-the-art equipment and gain insight into the drug development process.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
• Investigate the degradation and erosion behavior of excipients used in injectable formulations.
• Develop experimental protocols (SOPs) for in vitro conditions and analytical validation reports
• Evaluate how excipient grade, drug loading, and sterilization methods impact degradation and erosion behavior.
• Conduct a comprehensive literature review and provide an annotated summary of mechanisms and regulatory considerations.
• Plan to conduct laboratory work and document technical data with experimental results.
• Presentation of results to project teams and to the management
**Requirements**
• Must be a current undergraduate, graduate or advanced degree student in good academic standing
• Student must be enrolled at a college or university for the duration of the internship
• Overall cumulative minimum GPA from last completed quarter/semester 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) preferred
• Major or minor in related field of internship
• Undergraduate students must have completed at least 12 credit hours at current college or university
• Graduate and Advanced Degree students must have completed at least 9 credit hours at current college or university
**Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:**
• Searching for a candidate in Pharmaceutics, Polymer Science, Pharmacy, Chemistry, etc.
• Hands on experience of polymer chemistry, formulation development.
• Hands on experience of dissolution methods, like United States Pharmacopeia apparatus.
• Written and oral communication skills with publication and presentation records.
• Strong collaboration, organization, and project management skills.
**Eligibility Requirements:**
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
• Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
• Must be 18 years of age or older
**Compensation Data**
