Master Thesis worker – Advanced pain monitoring
Job Description SummaryGE HealthCare developed the world’s first pain monitor for surgery around 20 yrs ago. While the current pain monitors can reliably detect patients’ hemodynamic responses (heart rate, blood circulation) to painful stimulation, the next generation pain monitors may also monitor other physiological systems and classify pain level according to extent of different physiological systems reacting to the stimulus. In this project you will use physiological data recorded during the surgery. First part of the project is to analyze performance of the existing pain monitor; this part is used in the regulatory approval of the device. Second part of the project is to study the applicability and benefit of the integration of other physiological signals, such as EEG and EMG, to the next generation pain monitor

Job DescriptionResponsibilities

Your role is to derive statistical performance metrics, such as ROC, to the different pain monitors

Mathematically characterize multiple physiological signals and build machine learning model based on the signals

Evaluate it usefulness by simulating it’s use with authentic physiological data .
