Master Planner - Supply Chain

The Master Planner is responsible for identifying gaps and driving solutions for a subset of Corrugated Packaging plants within the short-term Integrated Tactical Planning (ITP) horizon (0-13 weeks). They will balance demand and supply to meet our strategic objectives (IBP plan). The Master Planner works collaboratively with Line Schedulers, Customer Service, Inventory Management, Supply Planning, Area Operations, Finance, and Commercial teams. This role drives decisions to maximize OTIF, minimize working capital, and balance costs such as $/MSF, freight, and inventory to support operational and financial goals.
Responsibilities:
Balance demand forecasts across plants by proactively reviewing demand against orders and capacity; identify gaps and drive solutions development to align supply plans to meet our strategic and financial commitments Identify potential bottlenecks or excess capacity across the node, partner with supply planning and operations to develop and recommend proposals to mitigate supply and cost riskEnsure orders are routing appropriately to plants in node to maximize OTIFOn an exception basis, re-balance demand and orders as needed and collaborate with other Master Planners and Supply Planners to balance across nodes Assign primary plants to new items and local customers and collaborate with Supply Planning to assign primary and backup plants to new national customers once node is determinedDevelop inventory planning strategies by setting seasonal, pre-build, contractual, and Days of Supply targets for converting facilities, ensuring optimal stock levels while minimizing working capital expenseEnsure warehouse inventory aligns with demand by directing planning efforts and partnering with key stakeholders to maintain visibility of KPIs, risks, tradeoffs, and escalation needsParticipate in ITP process and ensure KPI’s, risks, tradeoffs and decisions/escalations needed are visible. Work with key stakeholders such as Commercial, Customer Service, Line Schedulers, Supply Planners, Logistics, Finance and others accordingly.Facilitates connecting ITP decisions and plans back to operations, commercial and pricing teams as needed to ensure execution.Facilitate and drive continuous improvement opportunities that target increasing system and process utilization, efficiencies, and throughput in the division to optimize capacity, minimize cost and best satisfy customer requirements (OTIF)Support the implementation of new technology implemented as part of Smurfit Westrock’s transformation effortsMaintain accurate and clean data and ensure system is updated with the most current capacity outlookRequired Experience:
Depth of understanding of Corrugated Box Plant operations across order management, design specifications, production planning, corrugator, converting and shippingComprehension of current market conditions and seasonality with the ability to anticipate changesAnalytical and able to logically process information to produce insights in a consumable format; aggregates, cleanses, and disseminates data in structured formats to support better business decisions and improved performanceProcess oriented - Plans, designs, manages processes while focusing on refining and improving to increase efficiency and effectiveness; understands process inputs, activities, outputs, roles and sequencingAbility to prioritize, multi-task and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills, and attention to detailsExperience with advanced planning software is strongly preferred (SAP, Blue Yonder, o9), ideally through implementation of new tools Experience with Kiwiplan strongly preferredMinimum 5+ years of supply chain or related experienceEducation:
BS in engineering, supply chain management, general business administration, operations, or similar fields, or equivalent experienceMaster of Business Administration or relevant MS degree is preferred. Moderate business travel, 10-15%What we offer:

The salary range for this position is $81,375.00 - $135,625.00, depending on your role, level, and location. The range listed is also the expected pay for roles in Illinois and Colorado. The benefits for this role include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 10 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.
