POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Vice President of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing Specialist – Nevada supports the promotion of WestCare Nevada’s programs and services by executing marketing and communications initiatives that strengthen brand visibility, community awareness, and engagement. This role focuses on content creation, branding support, social media, and marketing production across WestCare Nevada’s service domains, including mental health, substance use treatment and recovery, criminal justice, Veterans services, housing, and prevention and education.
The Marketing Specialist assists with creative projects and communications efforts under the direction of the Marketing and Communications Team. This position primarily supports events and outreach by capturing content (photos, videos, and social media posts) rather than event planning, logistics, or fundraising. Through consistent, brand-aligned execution, this role helps elevate WestCare Nevada’s reputation and impact across the communities we serve.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Translate marketing concepts and direction into timely, high-quality deliverables. Assist with the creation, maintenance, and updating of marketing collateral, including presentations, program literature, signage, maps, and outreach materials. Design, produce, and manage marketing assets such as promotional items, digital and printed collateral, and multimedia content, including photos and short-form videos. Execute email marketing campaigns, newsletters, and internal or external communications. Assist with retrieving, archiving, drafting, and editing content for newsletters such as The Nevada Loop and WestCare Express. Support events and outreach activities by capturing photos and videos and assisting with real-time or post-event social media content, as directed. Ensure all marketing materials adhere to WestCare brand standards and complete required brand review and approval processes. Assist with filming and producing short videos for social media focused on employee engagement, program highlights, and community awareness. Assist in maintaining WestCare Nevada’s social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Vimeo) in alignment with organizational goals and content strategy. Coordinate with the Marketing and Communications Team on media support, public relations efforts, and storytelling initiatives as assigned. Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and department check-ins. Work collaboratively with leadership and team members to promote a team-oriented, dependable, and respectful work environment. Represent WestCare in a professional and positive manner consistent with the organization’s mission and values. Perform other related duties as assigned.ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Excellent organizational, multitasking, and prioritization abilities. Ability to work independently while remaining connected and responsive to the broader Marketing and Communications Team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and design platforms such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Canva. Familiarity with social media platforms, content publishing, and basic web or digital marketing concepts. Strong attention to detail and commitment to brand consistency. Positive, collaborative attitude with flexibility to adapt in a growing and evolving organization. Ability to learn new marketing tools, platforms, and software as needed. Maintain consistent communication with the Marketing and Communications Team and keep regional leadership informed as appropriate.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, Journalism, or a related field preferred. Minimum of one (1) year of experience in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field. High school diploma or GED required. Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.WORKING CONDITIONS
