As the Marketing Segment Manager, you'll define and drive the strategic roadmap that positions Amcor as the leader in selected vertical market segments. In this highly visible role, you will develop, communicate, and execute market segment strategies focused on revenue growth, profitability, and long‑term competitive advantage.
You'll collaborate closely with Sales, Pricing, Product Management, and R&D to ensure cross‑functional alignment on priorities, innovation pipelines, and go‑to‑market actions. Leveraging insights from other Amcor businesses, global platforms, and innovation teams, you will help shape unique value propositions that differentiate Amcor across key segments.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Market Segmentation, Positioning, Pricing & InsightsAnalyze the competitive landscape and develop actionable plans to differentiate Amcor in priority segments.
Own and guide the multi-generational product innovation pipeline aligned to segment strategy.
Conduct market segmentation, sizing, trends analysis, and identification of customer/segment white spaces.
Lead competitive assessments and ongoing monitoring to inform strategic decisions.
Partner with Product Management, Commercial Pricing, and Commercial Excellence to execute value+ and margin‑improvement actions.
Support commercial strategy through participation on Plant Profit Teams.
Lead B2B & B2C Consumer Insight ProgramsDrive insight‑generation initiatives (B2B and B2C) to inform segment entry strategies and product positioning.
Lead activities such as:
Focus groups
Ethnographic and demographic studies
Voice of Customer / Voice of Segment programs
AGOP and other insight methodologies
Connect consumer trends to packaging innovation opportunities.
Collaborate with global Amcor business units to craft integrated, “One Amcor” value propositions.
Strategy, Market Entry & Product/Platform Launch LeadershipPartner with Amcor leadership to develop go‑to‑market strategies for targeted segments with compelling, differentiated value propositions.
Build strong relationships with strategic customers to expand Amcor’s reach and influence.
Co‑own the new product platform pipeline and roadmap with R&D.
Collaborate across business units and regions to identify global growth opportunities driven by innovation.
Support global IP transfers that enable segment expansion and new market entry.
Lead cross‑functional strategic planning, including:
Annual segment strategy plan development
Market research, customer validation, and pilot programs
Stage‑gate leadership for market entry and platform launches
Product launch roadmap creation
Support customer adoption of new technologies, including:
Co-developing value propositions aligned to Amcor’s portfolio and segment strategies
Creating scalable templates to accelerate Amcor’s penetration into target markets
Guiding customers through new packaging launches in partnership with equipment vendors, allied suppliers, Sales, R&D, and Operations

WHAT YOU BRING
Required:
Bachelor's degree
Technical expertise in flexible packaging
Experience working with new packaging materials, formats, and filling equipment
Ability to influence and motivate cross‑functional teams across Amcor, customer organizations, and partner suppliers
Ability to quantify and monetize value propositions for customer stakeholders
Proven financial skills to build business cases, support contracts, and justify capital investments
Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical and medical markets, including product launch processes and strategic marketing
Solid grounding in marketing fundamentals (strategy, segmentation, product management)
Working knowledge of packaging sustainability principles (LCA, carbon footprint, etc.)
