Marketing Executive | Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam

With the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam’s strong brand presence (and reputation) in the global market, the Marketing Executive will play an important role by assisting the Cluster Director of Marketing & PR in achieving key objectives with the annual marketing plan, current initiatives and relevant marketing activities relating directly to the hotel. The Marketing Executive performs an integral role in bringing together all function areas to ensure commercial targets are heightened. The marketing role involves managing smaller individual projects and overseeing all day-to-day administrative marketing duties for Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam.

Essential functions

·         Support the Cluster Director of Marketing & PR with the coordination of marketing campaigns, promotional activities and maintain tracking to measure success

·         You’ll design, source, order, and manage marketing materials, from elegant print pieces to venue-specific assets. Working closely with trusted suppliers to ensure everything reflects our brand’s refined aesthetic.

·         Working closely with our Cluster Content Creator, you’ll help shape relevant, engaging, and impactful content for our social media channels, from brainstorming ideas to supporting execution.

·         You’ll coordinate and assist with hotel and Food & Drink photo shoots, ensuring every image captures the soul of Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam, timeless, authentic, unforgettable and fun.

·         You’ll assist with PR events, collaborations, and press moments. Helping everything run smoothly behind the scenes while keeping brand consistency front and center.

·         Has a feeling of design, and has worked with programs like: Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Indesign and/or Adobe Illustrator

·         You’ll update and review our websites, ensuring content is accurate, inspiring, and aligned with our brand voice, while also scouting new online opportunities to promote the hotel and venues.

·         You’ll keep an eye on trends, platforms, and partnerships that can elevate our visibility and storytelling in meaningful ways.

Supportive function

Business Function:

• Coordinate all marketing projects and monitor on-going marketing campaigns performance and reporting as directed by the Commercial Director

• Assist on all marketing activities for special events, exhibitions, partnerships and property inspections

• Support during on-site photos shoots, hotel filming whilst ensuring all relevant administration duties are completed and approved

• Support all in-house merchandising campaigns and develop tracking

• Assist with specific promotional activities for the cluster relating to rooms division, food and beverage outlets, eCommerce, and sales

• Support appropriate use of marketing content, creative resources, translation and photography while optimising an effective online presence in line with regional strategy

• Be a brand champion ensuring all collateral conforms to agreed brand standards, ensuring the right tone, voice and content is compliant with corporate guidelines

• Assist Commercial Director with loyalty marketing activities directed at growing Hilton Honors membership base and loyalty

• Coordinate all press related requests, contacts, events and publications

Managing Execution:

• Coordinate the hotel’s monthly audit report to include specific initiatives and promotions

• Review all third party website content to ensure that it is accurate, current and reflects the hotel

• Conduct competitive analysis research on hotel, food and beverage outlets and eCommerce activities

• Maintain media lists, marketing collateral, photo library, newsletters, brochures, desktop publishing and all matters relating to marketing

• Assist with the creation of e-newsletters and mobile marketing campaigns and enhance online presence by providing key data and content information to enhance eCommerce opportunities

• Assist with the development, maintenance and growth of customer databases and guest satisfaction survey’s to promote rooms, meetings, food and beverage outlets and targeted activities

• Support management with marketing projects and partnership programs including sourcing resources and budget implications

• Produce tracking documents and assist on developing hotel fact sheets and power-point presentations as directed by the Commercial Director

• Achieve agreed performance goals and marketing objectives of role set out by the Commercial Director

Building Relationships:

• Establish effective rapport and open communication with all departments

• Maintain good working relationships with key members of the design and media agencies

• Work effectively within the hotel Commercial team as well as supporting relationships with cluster and regional levels on relative projects and promotional campaigns

• Excel at being an effective team player in all aspects of the role

Specific job knowledge, skill and ability

Experience & Qualifications:

·         Educated to College level or similar work experience, preferably with Marketing and eCommerce experience.

·         Experience of supporting, planning and managing project work to tight deadlines.

·         Knowledge of the main marketing functions in a support role.

·         Demonstrated ability to interact and collaborate effectively with carious levels of management.

Skills:

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and a high level proficiency of Dutch.

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, budget management and project and time management.

·         Understands commercial awareness and can adapt to changing priorities quickly.

·         Ability to interact effectively and work diplomatically and collaboratively with a wide range of individuals.
