Job Description

Join a leading maritime engineering and ship repair contractor specializing in U.S. Navy programs. Contribute to high-priority Navy initiatives, including corrosion mitigation and ship systems repair, by performing shipboard preservation work in San Diego.

Responsibilities

Perform painting, touch-ups, and preservation on shipboard structures.Conduct sanding, grinding, surface prepping, masking, chipping, and cleaning.Assist technicians with coating application and material handling.Work aboard ships, piers, dry docks, and industrial marine sites.Adhere to strict safety protocols and NAVSEA standards.Complete assignments on schedule in a high-tempo environment.

Essential Skills

Shipboard painting experience (2+ years preferred).Ability to perform preservation, coating, sanding, prepping, and masking on Navy vessels.Understanding of marine coating processes, surface prep, grinding, sanding, masking, and cleanup activities.Comfortable working in confined spaces, heights, and shipboard environments.Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and operate basic pneumatic and electric tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

DBIDS access Prior shipyard, ship repair, or industrial/manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.High school diploma or GED preferred.Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
