We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Manufacturing Test Engineer to join our team. The role involves the design, development, and maintenance of test systems for electrical and control subsystems across various robotic product lines. This position requires building and implementing automated test solutions for embedded hardware to enhance efficiency, traceability, and test coverage. The ideal candidate will work closely with design, systems, firmware, and manufacturing teams to ensure the testability and manufacturability of our products.
Responsibilities
+ Design, develop, and maintain test systems for electrical and control subsystems.
+ Build and implement automated test solutions for embedded hardware.
+ Collaborate with design, systems, firmware, and manufacturing teams.
+ Analyze test data to identify issues and drive root cause investigations.
+ Implement corrective actions based on test data analysis.
+ Support new product introduction by creating scalable test strategies.
+ Maintain and update documentation for test equipment, processes, and protocols.
+ Mentor junior engineers and technicians while improving test practices and tools.
Essential Skills
+ 5-7+ years of relatable experience in test engineering.
+ Proficiency in firmware, electrical engineering, and test engineering.
+ Experience with C++ and Python.
+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
+ Experience developing automation software to test hardware at various levels.
+ Understanding of embedded systems communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, EtherCAT).
+ Experienced in designing and deploying test fixtures from a software and hardware standpoint.
+ Hands-on experience with end-to-end data flow architecture.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with ECAD tools, preferably Altium.
+ Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES), test result databases, and statistical process control (SPC).
+ Exposure to safety-critical product development and regulatory compliance standards.
+ Background in robotics or highly integrated mechatronic systems.
+ Experience in database architecture and integration.
Work Environment
The work environment is a dynamic mix of lab/manufacturing floor and office settings, with a 50/50 split. Initially, the role requires on-site presence five days a week, with potential flexibility in the future. The role offers the exciting opportunity to work on the V5 robot, the next generation of our robotic products.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Albany, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $67.31/hr.
