Job Description
As a Technician, you will be responsible for managing the glycerin refinery plant operations using systems like Distributed Control Systems (DCS) to maintain production targets and efficiency. You will monitor process parameters, alarms, and equipment status, making necessary adjustments to ensure optimal performance. Additionally, you will be tasked with conducting quality control by taking samples from designated points and ensuring their timely delivery to the laboratory for testing. Chemical handling is another critical aspect of the role, requiring you to fill chemicals based on production requirements and ensure proper dosing while adhering to safety protocols. You will also conduct preventive maintenance on field equipment and report any issues, all while following plant safety procedures, especially when handling hazardous materials or working with high-temperature equipment.

Work Environment
The position requires working 12-hour rotating shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM in a climate-controlled environment. You'll need to be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, as well as in confined spaces. Exposure to chemicals, pressurized steam, dust, heat, noise, and fumes is expected. The facility has roughly ten production operators on all shifts. The dress code is casual, but steel-toed boots, a hard hat, safety glasses, and additional PPE are required, with uniforms provided later on.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ames, Iowa.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
