Manufacturing Specialist
**Job Title: Manufacturing Specialist** **Job Description** The Manufacturing Specialist is responsible for monitoring and controlling production kettles used to produce industrial grease. This role involves managing chemical raw materials to manufacture finished products according to defined formulations and procedures. Key activities include moving raw materials from a receiving warehouse to the manufacturing floor, staging and pre-weighing materials for production orders, and managing inventory transactions. The role requires technology proficiency to operate a computerized control system. Safety is paramount due to exposure to high heat, pressure, and hazardous chemicals. Forklift operation may be necessary. **Responsibilities** + Manage raw materials from prestaging through the manufacturing process. + Stage raw material chemicals, including pre-weighing, to support production orders. + Follow manufacturing processes and formulations to ensure product consistency. + Measure and add raw materials following defined procedures. + Operate proper startup and shutdown of manufacturing equipment. + Flush and clean kettles and lines according to work instructions. + Monitor process equipment to ensure proper control. + Record inventory transactions accurately. + Perform in-process testing and analyze results. + Notify management of any mechanical or material issues. + Maintain a clean and safe work area, including the trash dock. + Understand chemical SDS information, raw material hazards, and safety protocols. **Essential Skills** + Organizational skills + Technology competency + Attention to detail + Teamwork ability + Consciousness of product quality + Mathematical competency + Operational knowledge of manufacturing equipment + Understanding of raw material hazards and safety protocols **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High School diploma or GED required. + Experience in petroleum/chemical manufacturing operations preferred. + Understanding of electronic control systems desired. **Why Work Here?** Enjoy working in a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility with a close-knit team environment. The manufacturing environment involves exposure to high temperatures, pressures, and potential hazardous chemicals, requiring fitted breathing masks and hearing protection. Physical demands include regular lifting and moving of objects up to 50 pounds, with occasional movement of full 55-gallon drums.
