Manufacturing Process Engineer
Job Title: Manufacturing Process EngineerJob Description

As a key member of the Production Engineering Team, the Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for supporting daily operations, including planning and designing manufacturing processes. The role involves maintaining and revising floor documentation, optimizing workflow efficiency, implementing standard work, and engaging in continuous improvement activities. You will also provide technical expertise and leadership to enhance manufacturing and supplier quality, cost-effectiveness, and logistics, ensuring business requirements are sustained and outsourcing projects are effectively executed.

ResponsibilitiesMaximize product line efficiency by analyzing equipment layout, workflow, assembly methods, and workforce utilization.Implement Engineering Change Orders, including creating and revising process control documentation, tooling, fixturing, and conducting operator training for the assigned product line.Lead standard work and cell design activities using Lean tools.Maintain product process control documentation.Collaborate with Buyer/Planner on material cost reductions for product line parts and assemblies, supplier quality, and new supplier development.Design machine tooling to assist in manufacturing cells.Measure and define continuous improvements to increase process capability; identify and propose alternative methods and materials concerning quality, manufacturability, cost, and availability for enhanced customer satisfaction.Evaluate manufacturing technological capabilities to meet required design, quality, and material specifications.Support warranty cost recovery activities related to quality.Support manufacturing to improve cost, quality, and throughput.Perform quality audits on finished units and work in process.Maintain logs and records following Quality System requirements.Process Non-Conforming Product (NCP) Reports.Essential SkillsProficiency in process mapping, process improvement, and process management.Experience in process flow, design, and process engineering.Familiarity with industrial engineering and time studies.Skills in manufacturing engineering and process engineering.Knowledge of SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.Understanding of material flow and manufacturing processes.Experience in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.Ability to create work instructions.Additional Skills & QualificationsDegree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.1 year of experience in Production, Manufacturing, or Quality Engineering (internships or co-ops are acceptable).Experience with Lean Manufacturing.Experience with Six Sigma methodology.Work Environment

The position is located in Blauvelt, NY, within a manufacturing setting. Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. The dress code is business casual. This role offers a long-term contract position with opportunities for gaining valuable hands-on skills in manufacturing. Benefits include accrued sick/vacation time, with a track record of project extensions and conversions.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $36.06/hr.
