Northrop Grumman is seeking a Material Expeditor 2 or 3 to support our Large Caliber Ammunition team located in West Burlington, Iowa at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant.

About the Opportunity

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Material Expeditor 2 or 3 to join our manufacturing and process engineering team. This role will provide production support, inventory control, and administrative support for large‑caliber ammunition production programs. The position is based at our IAAAP facility near Burlington, IA, and works closely with cross‑functional teams across supply chain, engineering, quality, logistics, and program management in Plymouth, MN.

Key Responsibilities

1.  Inventory Management
• Coordinate material handling including packing, labeling, and shipping.
• Follow procedures for the safe movement of materials onto, off, and around the facility.
• Conduct physical inventories of parts; assist with addressing part issues in storage areas.
• Schedule appointments to access storage areas and coordinate transportation to locations.
• Learn part numbers, configurations, and packaging specifications
• Manage warehouse operations including tracking inventory levels, coordinating material moves, and calculating available storage and truck capacities.
• Act as a liaison with ISC, AO, vendors, and NG personnel regarding material storage and movement.
• Support production initiatives by providing material shipment solutions between the warehouse, AO, and vendor facilities.
• Oversee miscellaneous shipments, label creation, and assist in production material searches as needed.
• Coordinate demilitarization and disposal processes and compile disposition data.

2.  Production Support
• Create and maintain lot history folders; attend schedule meetings to track production timelines.
• Monitor production count points and chart progress to ensure efficient production cycles.
• Maintain the Material Review Board (MRB) database, perform data entry, and generate reports.
• Collect data to assist with lot closeout reports
• Compile production records following production builds.

3. Administrative Support
• Manage expenses for office, warehouse, and vehicles by processing payments and creating expense reports
• Organize travel arrangements for onsite staff
• Work with security to facilitate visitor access
• Manage office operations by ordering supplies, coordinating maintenance/repairs, shredding documents, filing paperwork, copying, and printing.
• Assist engineers with report needs and manage communications related to office tasks.
• Handle all incoming and outgoing mail and shipping responsibilities.

Basic Qualifications

High school diploma & 2 years or related experience for the level 2. For the level 3- high school diploma & 4+ years of related experienceProven experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or production support.Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a keen attention to detail.Ability to perform physical tasks including climbing ladders, stairs, and maneuvering in diverse storage environments.Familiarity with inventory tracking systems and/or basic data entry skills.Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with internal teams, vendors, and security personnel.Capability to adjust priorities in a fast-paced setting and manage a diverse set of responsibilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

Coursework or certifications in inventory or warehouse managementBasic knowledge of supply chain principles and practicesFamiliarity with logistics and transportation processesExperience in defense or other highly regulated industryExperience with hazardous or energetic materials

Primary Level Salary Range: $18.53 - $30.93

Secondary Level Salary Range: $21.99 - $36.69

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
