Under the mentorship of the Manufacturing Engineering team, evaluate solutions for a robotic soldering application including feasibility, sourcing, validation, and qualification.

Responsibilities Gain hands-on experience in a real-world manufacturing environment to apply knowledge learned in the classroom.Gain experience in printed circuit board manufacturing, analyzing SPC data, and procuring engineering materials.With guidance from the manufacturing engineering team, automate manual soldering processes using robotics and considering cycle time, quality, space requirements, equipment layout, and workflow.Develop troubleshooting and root cause analysis skillsUnderstand how to calculate and improve production efficienciesReduce downtime associated with 8 wastesGain experience interfacing with an ERP systemParticipate in a Kaizen event to ensure continuous process improvement.Work collaboratively with interns from other disciplines including Robotic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials, and Continuous Improvement. Qualifications Experience with PC based Word, Excel, Power Point, and Solid WorksCurrently enrolled in an undergraduate program in the field of Engineering with interest in automation and roboticsGood academic standingExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal skillsExcellent computer skills; Excel, Word, PowerPointAbility to handle and prioritize multiple tasks effectivelyRising Junior or Senior in a degree program for Bachelor of Science degree (B.S) from a four-year college or university in Mechanical, Robotics, or Manufacturing EngineeringWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, stand and walk.  The employee will frequently be required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds using proper lifting techniques. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
