Northrop Grumman Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) has an opening for a Research, Technology & Products (RT&P) Manager of Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration & Test to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be in Redondo Beach, CA and is full-time on-site.
As the RT&P MAI&T Deputy, you will report to the Director of the organization responsible for leading a diverse team building and testing space qualified hardware in a dynamic, rapid development environment across a diverse portfolio of programs.
Seeking a proven leader to oversee Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration, and Test (MAI&T) activities with responsibility for technical execution, cost, schedule, and quality performance. This role requires strong cross-functional coordination, risk and opportunity management, and strategic alignment across all facets of execution.
In this role, the selected candidate will:
Provide leadership and direction to a multi-functional team supporting manufacturing, integration, and test operations
• Manage budget responsibilities across direct, indirect, NCTA, and capital funding in support of RT&P programs
• Drive common standards and processes while tailoring tools to support the RT&P Operating Unit’s diverse portfolio
• Lead risk management activities in collaboration with Program Management and Engineering
• Ensure safety culture is upheld through proper training, equipment, and focus
• Oversee program and project reviews, IRAD, proposal review/signoff, capital planning, and process improvements
• Influence design and verification strategies for affordable MAI&T execution
• Support special assignments including technical reviews, proposal efforts, and program audits
• Coordinate staffing strategies and skill development with functional homerooms
• Champion a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and high performance across diverse teams

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in ( STEM) electrical, mechanical, aerospace or systems engineering with 8 years (6 years with a Master’s) of experience within the space and defense industryMinimum 3 years of leadership experience in flight hardware production for space programsComprehensive knowledge of the space industry, coupled with specialized expertise in manufacturing, integration and test Active in-scope DoD Top Secret and SCI clearance, ability to obtain SAP clearancesPreferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a multi-caveat security environment across a portfolio of programsKnowledge of and relationships with RT&P internal and external customersBriefed to caveats that support current RT&P programsProven ability to cross-train teams and lead execution in billet limited environmentsKnowledge and experience specifying, managing and refurbishing a diverse set of facilities across multiple programs and security caveatsSalary Range: $170,000.00 - $255,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
