Overview:
Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support and improve manufacturing processes for existing products and new product introductions. This role focuses on process design, continuous improvement, PFMEA, and production support in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer (PFMEA)
Location: San Antonio, TX
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $30–$32/hr
Key Responsibilities:
Design and improve manufacturing processes, including layouts, tooling, fixtures, gauging, and documentation
Drive continuous improvement using Lean/Six Sigma methodologies
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
Lead capital equipment, cost-out, VA/VE, Kaizen, and safety initiatives
Evaluate new product designs for manufacturability and support NPI efforts
Qualify new or modified products through assigned manufacturing processes
Qualifications:
BS in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience)
Experience supporting assembly/manufacturing operations
Strong knowledge of PFMEA, GD&T, tooling, fixtures, MSA, and capability studies
Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD
Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills
Preferred:
Experience with automated torque tools, robotic welding, or CNC tube bending
Knowledge of ASME welding standards
Six Sigma Black Belt or demonstrated process improvement experience
Background in concurrent engineering environments
