The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will be exposed to a broad range of assembly processes. The intern will be mentored by an experienced Manufacturing Engineer.
Responsibilities Create process diagrams and standard work for assembly operationsDesign jigs/fixtures as needed for assembly of partsSpecify equipment for assembly of complex finished goodsAudit BOM and routings for accuracy in ERP software Qualifications Pursuing BS in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial EngineeringPassionate about manufacturing processesAbility to complete individual assignments as well work as in a team environmentAbility to communicate clearly and effectivelyMust have transportation to and from the internshipGoals and Learning Experiences: Throughout this internship, the candidate will be immersed in a manufacturing organization, experiencing every operation. The intern experience will include but is not limited to:
Injection MoldingBlow MoldingAssemblyRobotic value add activitiesSolid modeling3D printingPhysical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and listen. The employee will frequently be required to stand and walk; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: This position works in an office setting, a development lab/shop area and on the production floor and works around dust, oil, electrical/ pneumatic/hydraulic devices, and mechanically moving parts. Safety glasses are required while on the plant floor. Certain areas of the plant require hearing protection.
