Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description

This role initially involves a balanced focus, spending 50% of the time on the shop floor and 50% on programming or office tasks. Over time, the position will evolve into a role centered on larger projects and new processes as part of the transition to a supervisory position in process engineering.

Responsibilities

Engage in CNC machining process engineering and CNC programming.Work collaboratively on the shop floor and within the office environment.Develop and implement new machining processes and support plant operations.Troubleshoot and redesign complex CNC machining processes as necessary.Participate in project planning and execution for process improvements.

Essential Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.3-5+ years of experience in CNC machining process engineering or CNC programming.Proficiency with CAM software, with a preference for SolidCAM and required experience in SolidWorks.Advanced understanding of machining processes, tooling, and materials.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with Swiss-style CNC programming.Experience in supporting new product introduction or process validation.Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.Experience in high-volume or precision manufacturing environments.

Work Environment

The work schedule is typically from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with occasional planned Saturday work once a quarter. The role involves close collaboration with quality, production, and other engineering departments in a facility with approximately 100 employees. Although the facility is a union shop, this position's duties mainly involve working on the floor and handling machinery. The manufacturing and machining areas may expose employees to oil, coolant, and metal residue.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bluffton, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.27/hr.
