Job Description

This position involves leading process improvements in the Final Assembly area for electronic control units (ECU). The role encompasses project management, defect reduction, and specification of new equipment, utilizing both mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to enhance efficiencies. The engineer will work with automated assembly equipment, including robotics (Fanuc and Yamaha) and PLCs, and may use AutoCAD or SolidWorks to modify existing equipment, tooling, or fixtures. Responsibilities include creating and updating documents for team members and maintenance crews, utilizing SQL databases for process data review, and implementing preventive maintenance schedules. Additional roles may involve supporting launch activities and managing projects related to new equipment acquisition.

Responsibilities

Essential Skills

Manufacturing engineering expertise.Proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD.Experience in lean manufacturing.Knowledge in process improvement.Understanding of electrical and electronics engineering.Mechanical engineering skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, or related field.Experience with manufacturing equipment installation.Fanuc robot programming knowledge.Knowledge of PLC ladder logic and HMIs.Demonstrated ability to learn quickly.Project management experience.

Work Environment

The work environment is an electronic manufacturing facility, primarily clean-room, requiring smocks and ESD shoes. The role involves cross-functional collaboration with various groups such as Quality, Production, Machine Build, and Design Engineering. The work setting is a mix of on-floor and desk work, depending on project needs. The facility includes 14 SMT lines and a team of 9 engineers.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Harrodsburg, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $42.00/hr.
