Manufacturing Engineer
Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Job Description The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, improving, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production of trailers while meeting quality, safety, cost, and delivery objectives. This role drives continuous improvement initiatives, implements Lean Manufacturing principles, and supports the introduction of new products and technologies into production. Responsibilities + Design, implement, and improve production processes for welding, assembly, finishing, and material flow. + Develop standard work procedures and work instructions to ensure repeatability and consistency. + Apply Lean tools (Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, Kanban) to reduce waste, improve throughput, and enhance efficiency. + Collaborate with Product Engineering to ensure manufacturability of new trailer models. + Participate in design reviews, providing feedback on cost-effective and efficient manufacturing methods. + Lead trials and validation for new equipment, tooling, and automation (e.g., robotic welding cells). + Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions. + Support KPI achievement related to productivity, quality, cost, safety, and delivery. + Drive projects focused on reducing scrap, rework, and downtime. + Collaborate with production leaders, supervisors, and operators to drive a sustainable lean culture. + Provide technical training and guidance to shop-floor teams. + Collaborate with EHS (Environment, Health, Safety) to ensure compliance with safety standards and ergonomic best practices. Essential Skills + Expertise in manufacturing engineering. + Proficiency in AutoCAD and CAD software, including Creo or equivalent. + Experience in heavy equipment, automotive, trailers, or aerospace industry. + Familiarity with Siemens NX and Creo. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field. + 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with preferred experience in heavy equipment, automotive, or trailer industry. + Proven track record of implementing Lean Manufacturing principles. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Hillsborough, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
