Join our team in Anderson, Indiana, where we manufacture engine and chassis components for the heavy trucking industry. Our plant, acquired in 2006, produces metal components and sub-assemblies using machining, assembly, and casting of ductile iron and aluminum. As we experience significant growth and new business, we are seeking an experienced CNC Manufacturing Engineer to support our expanding operations. Our business is projected to grow from $10M to $40M over the next 1-2 years, with a corresponding increase in staff. This role is crucial to maintaining production efficiency while also contributing to the development and modification of new and existing parts for our clients.
Responsibilities
+ Ensure the smooth running of manufacturing operations.
+ Troubleshoot machine issues and perform machine setups as needed.
+ Manage end-to-end development of new parts for customers, including tooling definition and machine programming.
+ Edit existing customer parts, potentially from sister facilities.
+ Adjust plant layout and move equipment to accommodate new business.
+ Spend approximately 40% of time hands-on with new business projects on the floor.
+ Dedicate 30% of time to troubleshooting issues and process improvements on the floor.
+ Allocate 30% of time to desk work, programming, and drawing using MasterCam and Solidworks.
+ Participate in daily huddles with the engineering team at 7:15 am.
Essential Skills
+ 7+ years of experience in metal machining within a production environment.
+ Proficient in CNC programming from scratch, with a preference for MasterCam.
+ Ability to fully set up CNC machines, with an emphasis on mills (75%) and lathes (25%).
+ Previous experience in fixture design.
+ Familiarity with Solidworks.
+ Experience in conducting root cause analysis for process improvements.
+ Proficiency in working with Control Plans and PFMEAs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is preferred.
Work Environment
Work from 6 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as project deadlines approach. The CNC shop is temperature-controlled and offers room for production floor expansion. Currently, our team consists of 25 employees, with plans for significant growth. Office settings are shared with fellow engineers when not on the production floor. Occasionally, travel may be required, including potential overnight trips to our Pennsylvania plant.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $52.88/hr.
