Job Description: Manufacturing Engineer
This is a 12-18 month contract position with the potential to transition into a permanent role. The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for designing and modeling parts, creating new drawings, and developing process plans to optimize manufacturing methods. The role involves using EDM processes to find cost-effective solutions for part manufacturing, as well as making routings and drawings for each operation using Creo Parametric.
Responsibilities
Design and model parts using CAD software.Create new drawings and process plans for manufacturing.Develop routings and process drawings using Creo Parametric.Determine fixture and tooling requirements.Ensure process drawings and routings comply with engineering drawings.Release process drawings to manufacturing.Essential Skills
Experience as a manufacturing engineer.Proficiency in process drawings and routings.Knowledge of CNC machining.Proficiency in CAD software, particularly Creo, Pro/E, and SolidWorks.Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).Tool selection and machining expertise.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering or 5+ years of relevant experience.Experience in 2D and 3D CAD modeling and drafting.Previous experience with machining equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, EDM, and CNC equipment.Familiarity with inspection equipment and techniques.Experience working with aluminum and stainless steel.Advanced knowledge of capability studies and machine capability.CNC programming experience.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Rockford, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
