Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting existing mold and plating lines, as well as the launch of new programs. This role requires setting up equipment layouts, conducting design reviews, and liaising with the corporate team for required documentation.
Responsibilities
+ Implement production processes with a focus on continuous improvement.
+ Create documentation for production support and data collection.
+ Develop and update process control plans and PFMEAs.
+ Select vendors for equipment and production materials.
+ Develop and issue criteria to vendors for supplied items.
+ Determine stock items and quantities for equipment spare parts and production materials.
+ Define preventative maintenance items and schedules for equipment.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related field.
+ Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing engineering.
+ Experience in injection molding, plating, or assembly environments.
+ Proficiency in kaizen and continuous improvement methodologies.
+ Knowledge of manufacturing engineering and process improvement.
+ Experience with control plans and PFMEAs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Automotive manufacturing experience is preferred.
+ Experience with injection molds is an advantage.
+ Skills in project management, APQP, fixture design, and work instruction.
Work Environment
The position involves working with injection molding and plating lines, which can be hot and dirty in some areas. The site in KY has limited technical support on-site, so a self-starter with high initiative is needed. Benefits include 6 paid holidays and 1 week of PTO.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nicholasville, KY.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $43.00/hr.
