Manufacturing Engineer
Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer Job Description Join a dynamic and rapidly growing team specializing in advanced sustainable technologies for mobility. This role involves working with state-of-the-art equipment and processes in the automotive industry, specifically focusing on inverter modules for electric vehicles. As part of the xEV Regional PE group, you will play a crucial role in supporting production activities and ensuring equipment meets specifications for mass production. Responsibilities + Bring in new equipment and production lines to the Greenfield plant. + Lead and manage hybrid project management/engineering tasks. + Coordinate with the team for equipment installations and capital projects. + Participate in an extended stay in Japan (1-2 Years) to learn equipment and processes, then implement that knowledge in Greenfield. + Support Inverter programs by establishing equipment, processes, and quotations. + Ensure equipment specifications align with regional requirements and are safe for use. + Verify and validate that equipment meets product specifications and customer requirements. + Manage small groups and individuals, ensuring successful project outcomes. + Collaborate with other departments for testing trials and troubleshooting. Essential Skills + Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience. + 7+ years of experience in manufacturing/process engineering. + Experience in managing or participating in multi-million dollar projects. + Ability to travel and stay in Japan for an extended period (2 years). + Engineering skills in control systems, robotics, mechanics, pneumatics, optical inspection, and programming. + Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. + Proficient in computer literacy with personal computers and manufacturing systems. + Leadership skills with a focus on ethics and fairness. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in the automotive industry with electro/mechanical devices. + 4-year University Degree in Engineering or related field with 10 years of experience. + Knowledge of EV components like inverters and motors. + Understanding of APQP, FMEA, Control Plans. + Experience in electronics manufacturing. + Project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects. + Proficiency in Windows, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. + Familiarity with Project Management Software (MS Project) and CAD software (AutoCAD or others). Work Environment Work in a large, growing facility in Greenfield, Indiana, as part of a global automotive supplier. The role will involve a mix of working on the manufacturing floor, office tasks, and attending meetings.
