Manufacturing Engineer
Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description

As a Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Machining, you will be responsible for designing new products, providing engineering support for existing products, and developing components for new or existing products. Your role will also involve reducing costs for existing designs, working independently as well as part of a team.

ResponsibilitiesSupport existing production products and technical assignments that contribute to larger projects.Select appropriate techniques to solve problems and make sound process and programming recommendations.Utilize vertical (Fanuc, Fadal, Robodrills) and horizontal machines (Makino) and lathes (Okuma) to assess results and meet established design standards and customer specifications.Develop and apply automation technology systems, vision systems, and laser QR etching.Develop and support quality inspections using equipment such as Keyence, Marposs, and Hexagon.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree or technical school degree in an engineering-related discipline. Candidates with at least 5 years of experience in machining/manufacturing engineering will also be considered.Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing setting.Ability to read and write G and M code with a solid understanding of GD&T.Experience with Autodesk CAD/CAM software, with NX CAM being a plus.Additional Skills & QualificationsCNC programming, CMM programming, CAD, quality experience including gauge selection and planning.Experience in pneumatics/hydraulics.Proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD, machining, manufacturing engineering, quality improvement, tooling, CMM, and packaging design.Self-motivated with a mindset to find answers independently and a drive for new challenges and knowledge.Work Environment

You will be assigned to a product support team and assist CNC setup operators. Your tasks will include processing ECNs, cost control, cycle time reductions, task reductions, and procuring new equipment. The team consists of 6 Engineers, 1 Engineering Tech, and 1 Process Tech, led by an Engineering Team Leader. Everyone on the team is part of process support and can back up each other. The role involves working on the shop floor and shadowing setup operators initially, then hitting the ground running based on your skills and experience. The schedule is flexible, typically from 7:00 am to 4/4:30 pm, with the possibility of being called in at night approximately once a month. The operation runs 24 hours, with busy times being cyclical, particularly in the winter months.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sullivan, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $45.67/hr.
