PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a respected aerospace leader to hire a detail-driven Manufacturing Engineer in Burnsville, MN. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with a mechanical assembly background who enjoys solving complex manufacturing problems and improving shop-floor processes.
Your work will directly impact product quality, cost, and producibility—supporting aerospace components built to exacting standards.
Role SummaryAs a Manufacturing Engineer, you will develop and improve manufacturing methods, tooling, and work instructions to support efficient, high-quality production. You’ll work closely with production, tooling, and engineering teams to identify issues, implement improvements, and ensure manufacturing processes are robust and repeatable.
Job Type: Full-Time, Consultant (12 Months)
Location: Burnsville, MN 55306
Schedule: Monday–Friday | First Shift, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Pay Rate: $37.00 per hour
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Observe, document, and review production builds directly on the shop floor
Develop and maintain detailed manufacturing and assembly methods and work instructions
Investigate manufacturing defects and identify root causes and corrective actions
Identify potential fabrication issues and develop process or fixturing improvements
Propose and evaluate engineering changes for feasibility, producibility, and labor impact
Establish touch labor cost targets for shop and lab activities
Define tooling and gage requirements and support the tool design group
Ensure correct tools and gages are specified, available, and aligned with process documentation
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement manufacturing improvements
Support special processes including brazing, welding, and potting
Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
Minimum 2 years of relevant manufacturing or engineering experience, or an advanced degree
Mechanical assembly background
Experience supporting or working with special processes such as brazing, welding, or potting
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Preferred QualificationsDegree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering
Experience with Lean Manufacturing or process improvement initiatives
Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems
Experience with additive welding processes
Experience with brazing processes
Familiarity with Creo engineering software
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Pay Details: $37.00 per hour
