Job Description
Join our team in a dynamic winder position where you will be responsible for handling rolls as they come down the line, taking them off the conveyor belt and stacking them accordingly. You will assist in the lacing, starting, and stopping of the machine for material production, maintaining correct line speed, and inspecting, repairing, and staging rolls for production.
Responsibilities
Take rolls off the conveyor belt and stack them accordingly.Assist in lacing, starting, and stopping the machine for production.Maintain correct line speed during production.Inspect, repair, and stage rolls for production.Prepare rolls for production by removing 'busted' edges using a sheet stripper and sanding the wheel grind.Stage the roll of felt and ensure smooth machine operation.Record information for dry felt rolls used during shift on a daily basis.Record paper breaks and machine downtime on the Lost Productivity Record.Essential Skills
Experience as a machine operator.Proficiency with power tools.General labor skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Work Environment
Work in a manufacturing environment with running machines and forklifts. We manufacture roofing materials, so the facility emits a strong asphalt smell and is not climate controlled. It can be hot during the summer. Work hours include Mon: 10am-6pm, Tues & Weds: 6am-6pm, Thurs: 6am-2pm, with a shutdown period from the end of January into February, working M-F 7am-3pm. Enjoy two 15-minute breaks and one 30-minute lunch break during 12-hour shifts, and one 15-minute break and one 30-minute lunch break during 8-hour shifts.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.75 - $17.99/hr.
