**Job Title: Manual Machinist (Days)** **Job Description** Service and repair company specializing in pumps and rotating equipment as a Manual Machinist. You will be working in the shop to recondition a variety of pumps such as split case, overhung, horizontal, and multistage pumps. Utilize blueprints and drawings to carry out precise machining tasks. **Responsibilities** + Recondition pumps from the field based on blueprints and drawings. + Perform line boring on pumps and machining tasks such as drilling, facing, and squaring plates. + Handle machining of internal pump parts including shafts, sleeves, rings, impellers, heads, and casings. + Work with part dimensions ranging from 4" to 7'. + Machine materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and bronze. + Create serrated finishes for flanges and perform other precision tasks. + Utilize horizontal boring mills, lathes, and vertical mills. **Requirements** + 5+ years of experience as a Manual Machinist. + Proficiency in lathe machining and vertical milling (Bridgeport machine). + Experience with horizontal boring mills (HBM) and line boring on pumps. + Strong blueprint reading skills. + Familiarity with pump parts and manual machining techniques. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with vertical turret lathes (VTL). + Extensive experience with pump part machining and maintaining extremely tight tolerances. + Experience with turbine or compressor parts. + Capability to work with mills and other machining equipment. **Why Work Here?** Our company places a huge emphasis on taking care of its employees, offering extremely competitive pay rates and benefits. The company plans to move to a larger facility in the near future. The day shift operates **Monday to Friday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and Saturdays from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM** , with two paid breaks and an unpaid lunch. Expect to work 50 to 60 hours per week, with occasional Sunday shifts at double time. Safety gear including steel-toed boots, jeans, work shirt, and safety glasses is required. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas, near the Hobby area. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $44.00/hr.
