**Job Title: Manual Machinist** **Shift: 1st** **Pay: $30-$38** **Job Description** Join a dynamic job shop environment where every day presents a new challenge. As a Manual Machinist, you will work with unique parts, some of which require re-engineering. You will set up and operate various machines including VTLs, Boring Mills, saws, and drill presses. Your role will involve inspecting and verifying conformance to specifications, monitoring the machining process, and performing preventative maintenance inspections. **Responsibilities** + Set up and operate various machines, including VTLs, Boring Mills, saws, and drill presses. + Inspect and verify conformance to specifications on machined parts. + Monitor the machining process and measure parts during fabrication operations. + Adjust settings and operations to ensure product conformance to all applicable specifications. + Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and perform routine maintenance tasks on equipment. + Indicate and set up machines. **Essential Skills** + 5+ years of experience operating manual machines (excluding presses). + Proficiency in setting up manual machines. + Experience operating VTLs and Boring Mills. + Experience in indicating and setting up machines. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with manual machining tools such as mills, lathes, and vertical mills. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints. + Skills in manual setups and machining. **Why Work Here?** Our company is renowned for its stability and growth, with a commitment to machining complex one-off parts that keep customers coming back. The shop is well-equipped with overhead cranes and large steel products, providing a laid-back atmosphere reminiscent of an automotive shop. While the environment is relatively clean, employees may encounter grease and large machines. The position operates on a first shift from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the opportunity for occasional overtime. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleveland, OH. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $38.00/hr.
