Manual Machinist
Job Title: Manual Machinist in Uxbridge, MA paying $25 to $35 per hour

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to set up and operate manual lathes and machines such as Bridgeport's, Hurco, and Okuma. The role involves machining surfaces of precision sheet metal aircraft engine components and parts, making it ideal for individuals with tool-making experience.

Responsibilities

Restore components by operating manual lathes, Bridgeport's, Hurco, and Okuma.Measure and examine completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as calipers and micrometers.Use OEM prints and design sketches to ensure proper outcomes of repairs.Follow instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform job functions.Fabricate or modify fixtures and maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metalworking, layout, lapping, and cleaning procedures.Become fully trained and fluent on all parts with all machines.Follow AWT’s FAA Quality System.Repair customer parts with care, craftsmanship, and quality in a timely manner to meet the production schedule.Machine parts using required fixtures in accordance with the manufacturer’s technical data and company procedures.Work in other areas as needed.Maintain a clean and safe work area and comply with all preventative maintenance schedules.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.Proficient with all measuring devices.Self-motivated with excellent organizational and communication skills.Successful track record of achieving operational goals in a highly competitive, fast-paced, and unpredictable production environment.Ability to pass FAA/DOT initial and random drug and alcohol tests along with full background screening.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Data entry skills and computer literacy.Available to work full-time, Monday to Friday, with hours ranging from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Work Environment

The role requires sitting or standing for extended periods of time, frequent walking, bending, reaching to shoulder level, and occasional squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling weight up to 50 pounds. It also involves repetitive hand movement, eye-hand coordination, and manual dexterity. The work schedule is full-time from Monday to Friday, with hours ranging from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
