Job Title: Manual Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team for the 2nd shift. The role involves interpreting blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished parts, as well as the best sequence of operations and setup requirements.

Responsibilities

Safely set up and operate the correct machine for the job, including selecting, aligning, and securing fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, grinders, and shapers.Double check dimensions to ensure parts clean up to size and are free of errors. Run the part or parts, ensuring the highest level of quality at the lowest possible cost.Perform all assigned preventive maintenance on machines and clean according to procedures.Act as a technical resource to other machinists and departments to address and resolve inquiries and problems.Obtain and move or store parts to the next area of operations.Recommend methods or processes that will ensure continuous improvement of productivity and quality, while reducing costs.

Essential Skills

Experience with manual machines, conversational programming, program editing, short-run set-up, troubleshooting, live tooling, and working with various metals and alloys.Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Proficiency in mathematical concepts, including plane and solid geometry and trigonometry, as well as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.Basic knowledge of inventory software and manufacturing software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Requires a High School Diploma or GED.Three years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience is required.Completion of an accredited Journeyman/Journeywoman Machinist program preferred.Ability to effectively communicate with employees of the organization.Must obtain lift equipment certification and OSHA training after hire.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
