**Job Title: Manual Machinist**
Pay: $80,000 - $85,000/year
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to provide expert guidance and support for our injection molding processes. This role involves maintaining and repairing tools, conducting preventive maintenance, and collaborating with engineering to address tooling issues. This is a permanent role.
Responsibilities
+ Provide directions, instructions, and guidance to the assistant mold technician daily.
+ Ensure all tools and toolroom machines are in good working condition.
+ Perform tool core changes, cavity changes, and replace thermocouples, tips, and O-rings.
+ Repair tooling in the tool room when necessary.
+ Polish molds as needed.
+ Collaborate with Engineering to resolve tooling issues.
+ Document and keep historical records of work done on tools.
+ Provide troubleshooting support for daily mold problems.
+ Maintain working knowledge with hands-on experience of machine shop/tool shop machinery used for milling, grinding, cutting, drilling, and polishing.
+ Maintain toolroom material inventory and replenish materials as needed.
+ Read and interpret drawings and use them to machine parts.
+ Make and repair fixtures, machine components, gauges, and end-of-arm tooling used in plastic molded parts production.
+ Prioritize tasks and assignments based on daily production and engineering requirements.
+ Adhere to policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with blueprint reading and interpretation.
+ Changeover and troubleshooting skills.
+ Preventative and corrective maintenance expertise.
+ Ability to operate mills, lathes, and other mechanical equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to set up and operate tool room equipment such as Bridgeport mills, lathes, surface grinders, and drill presses.
+ Proficient in reading mold and component drawings.
+ Basic computer skills.
