**Job Title: Manual Machinist** Job Description We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to perform layouts, set up, and operate conventional machine tools, ensuring high-quality output and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be proficient in reading and interpreting drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, and will be capable of designing setup methods where none exist. Responsibilities + Perform layouts, set up, and operate conventional machine tools as required. + Read and interpret all drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. + Design setup methods where none exist. + Instruct other shop personnel on proper machining techniques. + Continually improve methods to deliver higher quality with improved costs. Essential Skills + Experience with Manual Mill and Lathe operations. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints. + Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, and grinders. + Experience in a machine shop environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Ideally able to operate a Horizontal Boring Mill. + Preferably able to run a Planer Mill. + Completion of a machinist apprentice program or equivalent training. + Ability to hold close tolerances and conduct component inspections. + Experience setting up machine tools such as ID/OD Grinders, Engine Lathe, Horizontal Boring Mill, Vertical Boring Mill, Radial Drill, and Planer Mill. + Four years of experience in machine shop operations. + Willingness to work in a team environment and openness to working overtime as required.
