**Job Title: Manual Machinist**
**Job Description**
This role involves working with a leading global engineering, manufacturing, and servicing company specializing in heavy industrial power and control systems such as heavy-duty AC/DC motors, drives, controls, switchgears, and generators. The industries served include oil/gas, mining/mills, energy/utilities, and marine.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform basic lathe and milling operations using medium size machines, including manual lathes and mills.
+ Inspect basic and routine parts for defects and wear.
+ Conduct milling operations such as drilling, tapping, boring, broaching, and conventional milling and lathe work using various engine lathes, including horizontal and vertical mills and horizontal boring mills.
+ Use measuring devices and techniques to ensure proper sizing.
+ Record data to produce expected service or design results, including sizing and illustrations.
+ Understand materials and their various applications to complete jobs.
+ Utilize various hand-held and stationary power and non-power tools, including band saws, belt sanders, hand grinders, and files, to complete jobs.
+ Lift, tighten, adjust, and secure heavy objects to perform work and observe safety precautions.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency with hand and power tools.
+ Mechanical skills and blueprint reading.
+ Minimum of 2 to 3 years of manual machinist experience.
+ Experience with manual lathe and manual mill operations.
+ Ability to operate general production and machine operation equipment.
+ Skill in using tape measures and assembling components.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Mill experience is required.
+ Experience with machine changeovers and equipment operation is preferred.

**Work Environment**
Work in a non-climate controlled environment. The position offers first shift hours from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday to Friday, and second shift hours from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Longview, Texas.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
