**Job Title: Manual Machinist** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist with hands-on experience in machining steel components for use in various service applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in operating and maintaining manual lathes and mills, with an emphasis on precision, safety, and reliability. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a shop environment and takes pride in craftsmanship and producing high-quality, custom-machined parts. **Responsibilities** + Operate and maintain manual lathes and mills with precision and attention to detail. + Read and interpret blueprints to accurately machine components. + Use measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers for quality inspection. + Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues to ensure consistent production. + Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to maintain workflow. **Essential Skills** + Experience with manual lathes and other machining equipment. + Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. + Proficiency in using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers. + Strong attention to detail and quality control. + Problem-solving skills for troubleshooting machine issues. **Work Environment** Work in a dynamic shop environment where precision and reliability are paramount. The role demands physical stamina and a keen eye for detail, contributing to the production of high-quality parts. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
