Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist for our 1st shift at a contract machine shop. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in setting up and operating manual lathes, mills, and bandsaws to machine parts based on blueprints. Comfort in operating and learning to operate forklifts and overhead cranes is essential. The projects primarily involve remanufacturing broken parts or repairing parts from production machinery such as shafts, sleeves, and rollers. The shop operates at lower production volumes, but the workload can vary.
ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate manual lathes, mills, and bandsaws to machine parts based on blueprints.Operate and learn to operate forklifts and overhead cranes.Remanufacture and repair parts from production machinery.Ensure precision measurement and adherence to blueprints.Respond to after-hours call-in work occasionally, with double pay compensation.Essential SkillsMinimum of 5-6 years of machining experience.Proficiency in manual machining, including mill and lathe operations.Ability to perform precision measurements.Experience with blueprint reading and CNC machining.Additional Skills & QualificationsCNC conversational programming experience is a plus.Experience in maintenance machining is desirable.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
This is a small contract machine shop, contracted by large manufacturers to repair and remake parts for maintenance teams. The environment is typical of machine shops—cramped and dirty due to the extensive capabilities and machinery present.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, Pennsylvania.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
