**Job Title: Manual Machinist**
**Job Description**
As a Manual Machinist, you will engage in hands-on machining operations while supporting maintenance, troubleshooting, assessment, and repair work on valves, including Block Valves, PSV/SRV, and pneumatic and electric actuators. Your role will involve working with various manual machines on individual components of valves, pumps, and other industrial equipment.
**Responsibilities**
+ Perform machining and support operations on individual components of valves, pumps, and other industrial equipment using manual machines.
+ Conduct hands-on shop work, maintenance, testing (pre/post), and repair of valves and actuators.
+ Carry out inspection, reporting, cleaning, and reassembly of valves and actuators in the workshop.
+ Machine materials and parts using various machining equipment.
+ Read and interpret schematics for assembly, repair, and reassembly as required.
+ Perform failure assessments and make recommendations to the on-site supervisor.
+ Conduct routine safety observations and inspections.
**Essential Skills**
+ 3+ years of experience in manual machining.
+ Proficiency in operating Mill, Lathe, and VTL machines.
+ Ability to read and interpret schematics and blueprints.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Tolerance of plus or minus 1 inch in machining.
+ Experience in horizontal boring.
+ Ability to operate Manual Lathe, Vertical & Horizontal Mills, Cut-Off saws, and drill press.
+ Specific experience with valves or in the oil/gas industry is a plus.
+ Prototrak lathe experience is a plus.
+ Team player willing to take on duties beyond machining.
+ Willingness to work extended hours as needed, up to 50-60 hours per week.

**Work Environment**
Bay Valve operates within an industrial manufacturing setting that is loud and dirty. You will be part of a team of 10-12 people in the machine and welding shop. The work shift is from Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:30pm, with occasional extended hours depending on customer workload.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Benicia, California.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
