Job Description

Join a leading global engineering, manufacturing, and servicing company specializing in heavy industrial power and control systems, including heavy-duty AC/DC motors, drives, controls, switchgears, and generators. Our products serve industries such as oil/gas, mining/mills, energy/utilities, and marine. We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to perform essential lathe and milling operations.

ResponsibilitiesPerform basic lathe and milling operations using medium-sized manual lathes and mills.Inspect basic and routine parts for defects and wear.Execute milling operations such as drilling, tapping, boring, broaching, and conventional milling and lathe work using various engine lathes, including horizontal and vertical mills and horizontal boring mills.Utilize measuring devices and techniques to ensure proper sizing.Record data to produce expected service and/or design results, including sizing and illustrations.Understand materials and their various applications to complete jobs effectively.Use various hand-held and stationary power and non-power tools, including band saws, belt sanders, hand grinders, and files, to complete tasks.Lift, tighten, adjust, and/or secure heavy objects while observing safety precautions.Essential SkillsMinimum 2 to 3 years of manual machinist experience.Proficiency in manual machining, including manual lathe and mill operations.Experience with hand tools, power tools, mechanical repairs, and blueprint reading.Capability to operate various machines and conduct general production tasks.Skilled in using a tape measure and assembling components.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with mill and machine operations.General production and machine operation experience.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a non-climate-controlled environment, ensuring safety and precision in all operations. The position offers a second shift schedule from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Longview, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
