**Manual Machinist**
**Job Description**
Join our team as a Manual Machinist in our prototype facility, where we specialize in creating rubber rollers for various machines. This is a unique position that requires precise fabrication of each roller to specific measurements. The role involves critical thinking and is not repetitive, as every roller is different. You will also have the opportunity to set up one of the few CNC Lathes available in our shop.
**Responsibilities**
+ Fabricate rubber rollers to precise measurements using manual machining techniques.
+ Set up and operate CNC Lathes as needed.
+ Utilize critical thinking skills to solve unique challenges presented by each project.
+ Maintain attention to detail to ensure high-quality production.
+ Collaborate with the team to support additional areas of the shop as required.
**Essential Skills**
+ Strong mechanical ability and critical thinking skills.
+ Proficiency in using manual micrometers.
+ Good mathematical skills.
+ Experience in machine operation and blueprint reading.
+ Ability to write and communicate effectively.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ GED/Diploma required.
+ A passion for learning new things and a motivated attitude.
+ Computer aptitude with experience in Epicor is beneficial.
+ Experience in military, machining, or logistics is a plus.

**Work Environment**
Work in a large, well-lit production shop equipped with state-of-the-art air purifiers, ensuring a clean and dust-free environment. While the machines do generate some noise, it's not excessively loud, allowing for easy communication. PPE and uniforms are provided, though candidates must supply their own steel-toed shoes. The shop maintains a comfortable temperature during colder months, but can get warm in summer, mitigated by large fans and open shipping doors. The standard shift is from 6am to 2:30pm, with voluntary overtime and flexible scheduling options available to accommodate personal needs.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of BLAINE, MN.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
