Job Description
Join our renowned manufacturing company with over 90 years of history as a CNC Machinist for Manual Lathes You will be responsible for setting up and operating machine tools to produce mechanical parts and instruments. This role demands a strong understanding of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures, with precision work on materials such as cast iron and stainless steel.
ResponsibilitiesAnalyze part dimensions and measure tolerances using micrometers and other measuring devices.Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools for precision machining operations.Align and secure work-holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials into machines.Use precision measuring devices to ensure parts conform to specifications.Utilize knowledge of blueprints, drawings, and models.Monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure quality control.Use equipment systems and processes to handle, install, position, manipulate, and move objects.Essential SkillsAbility to work with large piecesKnowledge of blueprints and machining proceduresAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience in working with cast iron and stainless steelUnderstanding of mechanics, mathematics, and metal propertiesWhy Work Here?

Work Environment
Work in a corporate location with a new facility. The industrial shop is clean and safe, promoting a productive and secure working environment. The 2nd shift schedule runs Monday-Thursday, 2:30 p.m. – 1:00 a.m., with initial training on the 1st shift for 2-3 weeks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Libertyville, Illinois.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr.
