Job Title: Manual Lathe Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Manual CNC Machinist with expertise in lathes. The role involves setting up, operating, and editing machines, with a strong emphasis on G code programming and Fanuc controls.

ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate, and edit CNC machines using Fanuc controls.Read, create, edit, and store program files with strong G code programming skills.Machine various materials including steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, brass, and composites.Utilize tooling knowledge concerning carbide and high-speed steels.Set up parts appropriate to machining operations.Interpret assembly drawings, detail drawings, and specifications to machine parts accurately.Work with CNC lathes and mills, ensuring proper speeds, feeds, tool selection, and machine strategies.Follow programming instructions, operational data, and machine setup instructions for operations like bore, mill, drill, face, thread, profiling, and contouring.Essential SkillsStrong G code programming skills with Fanuc controls.Experience in machining steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, brass, and composites.Knowledge of tooling with respect to carbide and high-speed steels.Ability to set up parts for machining operations.Interpretation of assembly and detail drawings for machining parts.Familiarity with CNC lathes and mills.Understanding of speeds and feeds, proper tool selection, and machine strategies.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School diploma/GED and 5+ years of relevant training/experience.Ability to read measuring instruments and hold tolerances.Capability to generate surface finishes per prints.Experience in operating numerically controlled machines for precise machining operations.Responsible for inspecting own work, including understanding dimensional and geometric tolerancing.Compliance with all safety and regulatory procedures.Ability to polish and deburr parts.Proficiency with pneumatic, battery, and electric powered hand tools.Ability to operate manual machine tools is advantageous.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The position is located in a shop/manufacturing environment with a first shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with flexibility to start earlier or end later based on needs. The role requires manual dexterity and the ability to lift 30-50 pounds regularly

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
