Manager – Volunteer ServicesCarroll Hospital
Location: 200 Memorial Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Carroll Hospital is seeking a Manager of Volunteer Services to lead and oversee all aspects of our adult and junior volunteer programs. This role is responsible for the recruitment, placement, retention, recognition, and effective utilization of volunteers across hospital departments and retail environments. The Manager ensures volunteer services align with Carroll Hospital’s mission and SPIRIT values while supporting an exceptional patient and community experience.
Key ResponsibilitiesRecruit, screen, and assign qualified volunteers based on departmental needs and criteria
Ensure all volunteers receive appropriate orientation and training in accordance with hospital policy, environment of care standards, and federal regulatory requirements (e.g., Joint Commission)
Maintain accurate volunteer files and records, including health documentation
Utilize volunteer management software to track hours, training, orientation, and health records
Develop and implement volunteer recognition and awards programs, including coordination of the annual awards luncheon
Provide oversight for special programs and projects, including Prayer Shawl Ministry, Pet Therapy Program, and Lost & Found
Communicate regularly with volunteers through internal communications and mailings
Assist with logistics and promotion of retail operations and Auxiliary events
Coordinate supply and delivery of marketing materials for Admission Folders across the hospital
Build strong, collaborative relationships with hospital departments to understand and fulfill volunteer needs
Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and organizational policies to support operational excellence
Monitor monthly operating expenses for assigned departments in alignment with annual budgets and productivity targets
Complete and ensure required competencies for employees
Foster a culture of inclusion, belonging, and collaboration
Champion the patient experience with a relationship-focused approach
Serve as a responsible steward of LifeBridge Health resources
QualificationsBachelor’s degree preferred
Previous experience working with volunteers and/or philanthropy strongly preferred
Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills
Ability to manage multiple programs and priorities in a healthcare environment
