The Opportunity
Abbott Vascular provides innovative, minimally invasive, and cost-effective products for treatment of vascular disease.
We currently have an opportunity available for a Manager Supplier Management to join our Vascular division in Temecula, CA.
Individual contributor with comprehensive knowledge in the specific area.
Ability to execute highly complex or specialized projects.
Adapts precedent and may make significant departures from traditional approaches to develop solutions.
Responsible for redesigning how supplier relationship management is operated in Abbott Vascular
Activities include sourcing, evaluating and method for selecting suppliers and vendors, and monitoring the supplier performance including quality and timeliness of materials and services supplied.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Developing an improved supplier relationship management program
The supplier external relationship management program will include assessments and improvements in supplier segmentation, partnerships & performance improvement
The improvement program will also include coordinating improvements in how Abbott Vascular operate internally in terms of supplier performance, scorecards & escalations
The role will involve coordinating activity between all of Vascular manufacturing sites & their associated procurement, supplier quality and supplier engineering teams in order to achieve the optimal process
As the process develops, this role will continue to lead the management of the processes implemented
Requires high degree of skills and independence in negotiation activities.
Typically involved in large and/or more complex purchases and suppliers that have higher impact on the
organization’s products, processes and budget.
May coach and provide instruction to lower-level staff.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Required Qualifications
Associates required
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred
6+ years of supplier management, sourcing, procurement, or supply‑chain leadership experience—ideally within medical devices, pharma, or regulated manufacturing.
Experience supporting Class II/III medical device components strongly preferred (e.g., stents, catheters, implantables, electronics, metals, or sterile disposables).
Additional Skills
Understanding preferred of CGMPs, QSR, ISO 13485, and the medical‑device quality landscape.
Ability to lead business negotiations and manage high‑risk suppliers.
Analytical strengths in evaluating supplier performance, cost structures, risk factors, and operational efficiency.
Excellent communication and cross‑functional leadership skills.
The base pay for this position is $99,300.00 – $198,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
