Northrop Grumman is hiring a Manager Programs 3 located in Chandler, Arizona.
The Program Manager 3 will lead all program initiatives and operations. As a strategist, consultant, and implementer the program manager will ensure streamlined activities within the organization based on the priorities of the Launch Vehicles (LV) business unit. This position will apply leadership characteristics to achieve sustainable top performance, a commitment to ethics and integrity, and the capability to innovate while challenging traditional ways of doing business. They will identify program problems, and obtain solutions such as allocation of resources, or changing contractual specifications. The Program Manager will balance programmatic needs to deliver results within cost, schedule, and quality parameters while encouraging and rewarding innovative behaviors through all levels of the organization.
Essential Functions:
Maintain responsibility for overall proposal, cost, schedule, and technical performance of program through launch and deliveryEstablish and execute all Operations Plans including material, manufacturing, integration of large and complex subassemblies with associated testingCoordinate with customer counterparts on tactical planning needs, such as funding profile forecasts, technical risk mitigation, and critical path managementIdentify and implement plans to achieve strategic objectives such as long-term production efficiency improvements, parts obsolesce risk mitigation, and product quality enhancementEstablish milestones, and monitor adherence to master plans and schedulesDefine program financial operations objectives, and provide input for financial reporting to executive leadershipDevelop and adhere to budget baselines utilizing Earned Value Management System (EVMS) control methodologies, and toolsImprove material flow and empowerment within subassembly integration utilizing lean practices and visual managementManage customer relationships to ensure compliance and that all security requirements are metDevelop assembly and manpower forecast to manage the cost and schedule for each projectEstablish methodology to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly objectives are achievedBuild strong partnership to ensure lockstep coordination with adjacent disciplines and program leadershipPerform Cost Account Management (CAM) duties as requiredBasic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of related professional experience to include a background in Program Management/Military experience, OR a Master's Degree and 6 years of related professional experience to include a background in Program Management/Military experienceAbility to obtain a DoD Secret security clearanceDemonstrated history of successful large Program Management preferably with Department of Defense customer communityExceptional written and oral communications skillsStrong interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with all levels in the organizationVery strong MS Project, Excel, Power Point and Word skillsPrevious experience leading a multi discipline teamPreferred Qualifications
Active DoD Secret security clearanceBachelors and/or Master’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics)Extensive experience in Leadership roles within the Aerospace and Defense industry, or within the military.Experience implementing lean projectsExperience managing a Product lineProject Management Professional (PMP) certifiedExperience managing Special Access ProgramsSalary Range: $161,500.00 - $242,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
