Northrop Grumman Defense Systems sector is seeking a Program Manager 2 to join our growing team of diverse professionals at Beavercreek, OH location. The selected candidate will serve in a Program Manager 2role on one or more strategic internal R&D (IRAD) projects as well as work to develop new Customer Research and Development (CRAD) opportunities with the Science and Technology and Research and Development communities.
The selected candidate will be responsible for the execution of programs that meet schedule and stakeholder requirements. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional technical expertise and collaborative people skills with the proven ability to work within a technically dynamic, high-growth, and fast-paced operating unit. The candidate must have demonstrated experience to include extensive experience with customer engagement, strategy development, resource planning, and acquisition processes. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience leading diverse teams, be a strong communicator, and be able to work successfully within classified and unclassified arenas. The candidate will collaborate closely with business execution leadership at the Business Unit (BU), and above, and several business functions (e.g., business management, contracts, global supply chain, security, etc.).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Developing inter-company and intra-company teaming relationshipsDelivering technical presentations to customers, executive management, and other program stakeholders Writing technical white papers in response to customer RFIsResponsible for the cost, schedule, and technical performance of the program (s).Development and adherence to budget baselines utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM) or similar cost & schedule control methodologies and toolsAssist operating units to expand their customer base and identify growth opportunities.Interface with the rest of the division to identify technology that could be leveraged and reusedBasic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with 7+ years or a Master’s with 5+ years of experience program, project management, or principal investigator experience on research and development effortsTechnical experience in developing engineered AI solutionsExperience executing programs with complex technical requirementsExperience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as the project or technical leadKnowledge of earned value management and capture managementDemonstrated success leading teams to achieve a common goalPerforms complex tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignmentPlan schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectivesThe ability to recognize and respond to executive and customer goals to rapidly develop outcomes supporting sector objectives.US Citizenship with ability to obtain Active Secret Security Clearance and maintain a SAPPreferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in STEMExperience with DARPA, AFRL, or other similar Science and Technology customers on AI development programsStrong technical background in the research, development, and operation of military systems5+ years’ experience including as senior technical lead or engineering manager positionsExperience with geographically diverse program teamsTS/SCI ClearanceExperience development of digital tools to provide customize data and analyticsExperience with application of AI in weapons systems developmentSalary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
