Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Manager Programs 1 to join our team in Chandler, AZ to support our Launch Systems team.
Due to the sensitive nature of our work this is a fully on-site position; hybrid or remote work is not available. Relocation is not available.
As a Manager Programs 1 your role will be pivotal in supporting missions critical to national and global security. This role is the MFG Lead POC for Sentinel in all aspects of Chandler Manufacturing make items.
In this role you will be responsible for directing all phases of Sentinel Manufacturing programs, from inception through completion, focusing on cost, schedule, and technical performance for all Chandler-manufactured items. Duties encompass managing contractual obligations, coordinating with internal teams and suppliers, ensuring delivery against milestones, and overseeing program risks and mitigations. Primary point of contact for program activities, leading program and customer reviews while ensuring alignment with manufacturing readiness. Promotes a culture of integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement to achieve program objectives.
Core Responsibilities include the following:
Oversee program execution for Chandler manufacturing, including Major Subsystems Cell, Thermal Protection Systems, Avionics, EGSE, and Cables, ensuring adherence to milestones and addressing cost/schedule risks
Collaborate across internal teams (engineering, quality, scheduling, and production) and suppliers to meet program needs and resolve issues
Propose, baseline, and execute operations plans per schedules and customer needs while developing capacity plans with functional teams
Identify and mitigate risks to operations plans in coordination with cross-functional teams
Develop and monitor work-in-progress (WIP), providing proactive visibility into progress through program reviews and dashboards
Ensure Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tracking/reporting and support labor forecasting, ETCs, and scenario planning for "forecast-to-green" actions.
Partner with operations leadership to define WBS, WADs, charging guidance, and CapEx projects supporting full-rate production readiness
Provide insights into build schedules, material needs, and engineering drawing coordination based on program requirements
Champion and lead continuous improvement initiatives to resolve issues, improve efficiency, and drive excellence

As the Manufacturing Lead the following responsibilities will be part of standard work supporting the Operations Program Manager.
Key Deliverables:
Develop mechanisms for monitoring and addressing WIP to ensure on-schedule, on-budget execution
Generate integrated reporting tools (e.g., "Ops Financial Health" dashboard) for streamlined, data-driven decision-making
Collaborate with Material Program Managers, planners, and engineers to align raw material requirements with hardware production schedules
Lead efforts to improve communication, trust, and team cohesion across internal and external stakeholders
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of related experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3+ years of related experience
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance, which typically requires US Citizenship
Experience in Manufacturing Operations and Program/Project Management
Experience creating and delivering presentations to internal customers and senior leadership teams
Experience collaborating with employees within a department and across functions.
Fluent with MS Office products - PowerPoint, Project, Excel, Word
Experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering
Active DoD Secret (or higher) security clearance
Experience indirectly managing a cross functional team
Competency with managing production in a low volume, high mix manufacturing environment
Experience leading Lean Events -Kaizen, VSM, etc.
Excellent Excel/Power BI skills and experience in automating hardware dashboards/status sheets
Familiar with the upcoming vehicle MFG hardware needs
Six Sigma Lean Certification
Primary Level Salary Range: $114,900.00 - $172,300.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
