As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking technology - Deposits Platform, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team’s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.

Job responsibilities

Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activitiesSets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaborationAnticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirementsManages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirementsCreates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experienceExperience leading technology projects and Experience managing technologistsDeep proficiency in reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise system architecture, toil reduction, and other site reliability best practices with the ability to implement these practices within an application or platformFluency in at least one programming language such as (e.g., Python, Java Spring Boot, .Net, etc.)Deep knowledge of software applications and technical processes with emerging depth in one or more technical disciplinesProficiency and experience in observability such as white and black box monitoring, SLO alerting, and telemetry collection using tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, etc.Proficiency in continuous integration and continuous delivery tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Terraform, etc.)Experience with container and container orchestration (e.g., ECS, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)Experience with troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues
Ability to identify and solve problems related to complex data structures and algorithmsDrive to self-educate and evaluate new technology
