As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within Compliance Technology, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team’s work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.
Job responsibilities
Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activitiesSets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaborationAnticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirementsManages stakeholder relationships and the team’s work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirementsCreates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representationRequired qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience Experience leading large feature teams of software engineers to deliver intensive data driven applicationsAbility to guide and coach teams on approaches to achieve goals aligned with strategic initiativesIn-depth knowledge and experience in Java and/or Python, with a strong understanding of scripting, automation, and data analysisExtensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including deployment and management of cloud-based applicationsExpertise in data platform technologies, particularly with tools like Databricks, for data processing and analyticsProficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life CycleAdvanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and SecurityIn-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systemsExperience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplinesPreferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Experience working with large datasets, data warehouses and data modellingStrong expertise in building RESTful micro-services using Spring Boot applicationsDevelopment experience on private cloud, AWS public cloud (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, EMR, Step functions, Glue), ETLs and Data Pipeline
