Manager of Process Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Process Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team at a high-complexity refinery. In this pivotal role, you will lead a diverse team of Process Engineers, providing critical support and technical guidance to optimize operations and ensure sustainable growth. Your leadership will be crucial in mentoring and developing staff, fostering a culture of excellence, and adapting to industry changes.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and lead a department of up to twenty Process Engineers, providing direction and support for both experienced professionals and recent graduates. Drive employee development, ensuring comprehensive training, career progression, and effective succession planning. Participate in industry networks and allocate resources to implement best practices across various refining technologies. Contribute to strategic optimization, cost efficiency initiatives, and technical assurance for operational improvements. Set high standards for safety and operational excellence, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures. Oversee process unit monitoring to achieve optimal performance and operational excellence. Prioritize and execute work processes related to turnarounds, projects, and process changes. Ensure effective delivery of technical and quality assurance in management of changes and hazard analyses. Support daily troubleshooting and strategic planning by providing technical oversight and resource allocation. Build productive relationships with business partners, suppliers, and other industry stakeholders. Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. Minimum 7 years of experience in Process Engineering/Operations Support within a petroleum refinery setting (10+ years preferred). At least 2 years of supervisory experience (5+ years preferred). Available for off-hours and emergency response duties. Willingness to work during maintenance outages and turnarounds. Physical capabilities to climb ladders, walk stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions while wearing safety equipment. Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a TWIC card.
